Concert Tickets for Boyfriend's Birthday?

Hey guys, so today it's the guy who's pretty much my boyfriend's birthday. I didn't get him anything beforehand because we had been fighting a lot and I didn't know if it would weird him out because we've never met. But I realized today, his birthday, that I really wanted to get him something so I got him tickets to see Jack Johnson near where he lives. I'm going to be in the area where he lives at that time, so I thought I'd tell him that he could either take one of his friends or go with me if he wants to meet up, whichever he wants. But my question is... do you think he'll hate the tickets as a birthday gift?
