Money Tip for Married Couples

A simple tip for married couples to help avoid the pitfalls of arguing over money.

One of the top reasons for marital strafe is money. Either its careless spending or simply lack of it, it becomes an issue that can lead to heated arguments and eventually divorce. When a couple first get married, they tend to make the mistake of wanting to share everything. This is fine when talking about closets, friends, or even that last piece of pizza. However, bank accounts should be separate.

Opening a joint checking and savings is fine and highly recommended. Just make sure each has an individual account also. Money should be deposited equally in the joint accounts for paying bills and saving for that rainy day. While the individual accounts should be used for personal items and gifts. This way, there should always be money for the necessities while giving the freedom of making personal purchases.
